What is HR Goblin?

HR Goblin is a social deduction party game for 3-13 players, set in a darkly comedic corporate office. Players take on secret roles as Employees, HR Goblins, or Managers. Employees must identify the HR Goblins hiding among them through discussion and voting, while Goblins try to stay hidden and sow chaos. Managers observe and attempt to guess the secret word. It's a game of deduction, bluffing, and trust—perfect for game nights with friends.

How do I play the game?

• 1.Setup: Tap "PLAY GAME" and configure the number of players (3-13), Goblins, and Managers.
• 2.Names & Avatars: Enter each player's name and optionally select an avatar.
• 3.Role Reveal: Each player secretly views their assigned role and word (pass the device around).
• 4.Discussion Phase: Players have 5 minutes to describe their word without saying it directly. Listen carefully for inconsistencies!
• 5.Voting: Vote to eliminate the player you suspect is a Goblin or Manager.
• 6.Reveal: The eliminated player's role is revealed.
• 7.Repeat: Continue until Employees eliminate all threats, or Goblins equal/outnumber Employees.
• 8.Manager's Guess: If a Manager survives elimination, they get one chance to guess the Employee word for an individual victory.

What are the different roles?

• ▪Employee: Knows the secret word (shared with all other Employees). Goal: Identify and eliminate all Goblins and Managers through discussion and voting.
• ▪HR Goblin: Receives a DIFFERENT but similar word. Goal: Stay hidden, blend in, and create confusion. Goblins win if they equal or outnumber the remaining Employees.
• ▪Manager: Knows how many Goblins exist but NOT the Employee word. Goal: Guess the secret word before being eliminated for an individual victory.

What are Goblards and how do I earn them?

Goblards are our in-game currency. You can earn them for free by:

• ▪Watching rewarded ads in the Store (5 Goblards per ad, up to 10 per day)
• ▪Watching ads after finishing games

Spend Goblards on:

• ▪Avatar packs (500 Goblards)
• ▪Word packs (100 Goblards)
• ▪Unlocking the "My Words" custom word feature (50 Goblards)

Can I create my own word pairs?

Yes! Unlock the "My Words" feature for 50 Goblards, then create unlimited custom word pairs to use in your games. Your custom words are stored locally on your device and can be selected during game setup.

How do I save my favorite player group?

After a game ends, tap "Save Group" to store that combination of players. Saved groups appear on the setup screen for quick access next time you play with the same people.

Is my data safe?

Yes, your data is stored locally on your device. We do not use cloud servers, accounts, or remote services to store your personal information. No sign-in is required. All settings, custom words, saved groups, and game progress remain on your device only. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Your privacy is our priority.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete all your data by uninstalling the app. Any real-money purchases (in-app purchases) can be restored after reinstalling by tapping "Restore Purchases" in the Settings.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No. The entire game runs offline. No internet required after download—play anywhere, anytime with friends.

What languages are supported?

HR Goblin is available in English and French. You can switch languages in the Settings menu.

Is there online multiplayer?

No. HR Goblin is designed for local, pass-and-play multiplayer on a single device. It's perfect for in-person game nights where players pass the device around for their secret role reveals.

How many players can play?

The game supports 3 to 13 players. You need at least 3 players to start a game, with a minimum of 2 Employees required for balanced gameplay.

What if I don't know my assigned word?

During the Role Reveal phase, if you're unfamiliar with your assigned word, tap "I don't know this word" to restart the word generation for everyone. This ensures all players can participate fully.

Are there in-app purchases?

Yes, but they're entirely optional. You can purchase avatar packs with real money or earn Goblards for free by watching ads. The base game is completely free to play with no paywalls blocking gameplay.

How do I restore my purchases?

If you've made in-app purchases and reinstalled the app, go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases" to recover your purchased content.

Can I turn off music and sound effects?

Yes! Go to Settings to toggle music and sound effects on or off individually. You can also adjust the music volume.

Why are there ads?

Ads help support free development of the game. You choose when to watch rewarded ads in the Store to earn Goblards—no ads are forced during gameplay. Occasional rewarded ads appear after games (which you can skip after a few seconds). This keeps HR Goblin free for everyone.
