Terms of Service — Echo
Effective date: February 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Echo ("the App"), an iOS party game developed and operated by Doved Studio ("we", "our", "us").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Echo, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Echo. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age.
2. Licence Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to:
- Download and install Echo on your personal Apple devices
- Use Echo for personal, non-commercial purposes
This licence does not include the right to modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the App.
3. User Conduct
When using Echo, you agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use automated systems or bots to access the App
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
- Circumvent any security measures
- Use the camera features to capture inappropriate or illegal content
- Abuse the AI task generation system to produce offensive content
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchase Options:
Echo offers premium features through in-app purchases, which may include:
- Weekly subscription: Auto-renewing subscription billed every week
- Annual subscription: Auto-renewing subscription billed every year
Payment and Renewal:
- All subscriptions and purchases are processed through the Apple App Store
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price
Cancellation:
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods
Refunds:
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Free Trial:
Echo may offer a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the advertised price.
5. AI-Generated Content
Important Notice:
Echo uses Google Gemini (via Firebase Cloud Functions) to generate game tasks. In Sonar mode, photos of your surroundings are sent to our server for AI processing to create context-aware challenges.
AI-generated content is provided "as is" and may not always be appropriate or accurate. You are responsible for deciding whether to perform any game task suggested by the AI. Doved Studio is not liable for any consequences arising from performing AI-generated tasks.
6. User Content
Photos captured in Sonar mode are sent to our servers solely for the purpose of generating game tasks. They are not stored, shared, or used for any other purpose. You are responsible for ensuring that the content you capture does not violate any laws or third-party rights.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in Echo, including but not limited to:
- Source code and software
- Design elements and user interface
- Logos, trademarks, and branding
- Pre-written game tasks and content
belong to Doved Studio and are protected by applicable laws.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Appropriateness or safety of AI-generated game tasks
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Reliability of peer-to-peer connectivity
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOVED STUDIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
- Damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App
- Any injury, harm, or damages arising from performing AI-generated game tasks
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Echo shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Echo at any time, without prior notice, for violation of these Terms or any conduct that we determine to be harmful. Upon termination, your licence to use the App is immediately revoked.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved before the competent courts of France.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page and the "Effective date" above will be updated. Your continued use of Echo after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
